| 2011 | Sea Island Club Co., Ltd. took over the Cooperative’s joint cotton purchasing and development business. Since then, Sea Island Club Co., Ltd. has been responsible for cultivation, procurement, spinning, and yarn sales of Sea Island cotton. |
| 2016 | Commercialization of American Sea Island Cotton. Sales of the yarn begin. |
| 2019 | Started a joint project with New Mexico State University on Sea Island Cotton seed development and quality improvement. |
| 2020 | Research on identification methods for Sea Island cotton and other extra-long staple cottons begins with Shinshu University, a national university, and Kondo Spinning. Research on the identification of DNA sites that control the characteristics of Sea Island cotton is currently being conducted in parallel. |
| 2021 | West Indian Sea Island Cotton Association reorganized from a cooperative to a general incorporated association. Joined the US Cotton Trust Protocol. |
